After 3 years in CNET, it's time to move on, from a career perspective. It's a much healthier and clearer choice to move on a new location (bigger company), learn new skills and open new career paths after learning those skills. It was a great experience and CNET has been a great stepping stone to my career. I quote from someone, "You work for more money to ultimately use that money to do what u really want later". But for me, it's not only the remunuration and better benefits... It's for my future :)

Damn i really need to get out after MGS4...playing it too much :P This game really made me a fan of the series...bought 2 t-shirts, a collectible limited edition guidebook and a special edition set of the game :D

TOKYO (Reuters) - Toshiba Corp is planning to stop production of
equipment compatible with the HD DVD format for high-definition video,
allowing the competing Blu-Ray camp a free run, public broadcaster NHK
reported on Saturday.

Toshiba is expected to suffer losses amounting to tens of billions
of yen (hundreds of millions of dollars) to scrap production of HD DVD
players and recorders and other steps to exit the business, Japan's NHK
said on its website.

No one at Toshiba could be reached for comment.

The format war between the Toshiba-backed HD DVD and Sony Corp's
Blu-Ray, often compared to the Betamax-VHS battle in the 1980s, has
slowed the development of what is expected to be a multibillion dollar
high-definition DVD industry.

Toshiba was dealt a blow on Friday when Wal-Mart Stores Inc said it
would abandon the HD DVD format, becoming the latest in a series of top
retailers and movie studios to rally behind Blu-ray technology for high
definition DVDs.

Toshiba plans to continue selling HD DVD equipment at stores for the
time being but will not put resources into developing new devices, NHK

Finally back from esplanade with the gang haha. So crowded everywhere. But the atmosphere was gr8. Beats staying at home to countdown :P
We used our hp to take video of the fireworks haha. Then went to Lao Pah Sa eat satay and carrot cake lol. Full sia. Now just reached home.

It's been a great 2k7 for me i guess.
Lets see, 2007 is when I started my "professional" hobby - photography, bought 4 new game consoles, spent a bomb on figurines, went overseas like japan,taiwan and thailand, took a lot of pictures of girls haha.

The last few days of 2007 was rather hectic... friday had schgal photoshoot in studio with lionel...Lionel actually asked one of the models to cry...and she did it in 2 mins! nice :P
Then went to photoshoot mbs and mendy haha. First time had a proper shoot with mendy...so honored lol. But we got caught in the rain...and i caught a bit flu =(
Then yesterday (sunday), had a quick 1hr studio photoshoot with Angel! At long last....since sept when i bought for her the doraemon maid until now haha, finally got my shoot!!! haha, she looks cute in the costume...especially the short skirt...haha. Don't blame me for the short skirt...buy from sex shop in akihabara de mah! lol
So many photos to scan tru...think got 600+ for the 3 shoots in my CF card....so tired... but must....play PS3!!!

Haha, not me, but my pal JS...accompany him to buy a proposal ring haha. Learnt a lot about diamond rings sia...Ultimately it's just the carat size or the clarity which decides wat kind of diamond to buy. Checked out 3 shops in bugis till he bought one for 1k+. It's about time he did this haha, 4 years le... think the same time i went overseas for studies, he met his gf. How time pass sia. Think he gonna ask in xmas haha. The salesguy at the jewellery shop told him to kneel down when proposing, adds 20% more to the chance haha. Wonder how is he gonna ask and do it. It's an important moment and i don't think JS wants it just to be a kneel down, please marry me kinda thing. Surely something nice and surprising de. Ill let him brainstorm on this haha. Anyway, I wish him all the best to it :) Congrats bro!

Just now when i took taxi back to office from IMM, the taxi driver veri funni, told me before me, got a female passenger flagged down his taxi. Then when the lady got on, the lady ask him wanna massage :P Then he immediately ask the lady to get off the taxi haha. He also told me incidents like some china lady no $ for cab fare, ask if he wants to see their nude body :O or wanna have a good time lol. Another incident is when a girl quarrelled with the boyfriend on the cab on the phone. The girl wanna to jump off the taxi to commit suicide lol. Taxi driver quite exciting sia...but dangerous lol.

I heard from somewhere that ぴなふぉあ (Pinafore), one of the popular maid cafes in Japan has opened a Thailand branch earlier this year. Having graced the screens on TV dramas like Densha Otoko and the more recent Mop Girl. I decided to drop by the Thailand branch to experience my first authentic maid cafe experience ever, read on :D

The place was to be honest, wasn't really an easily accessible place to find for tourists. It was at the 3rd floor...in rather small and quiet shopping centre abt 8-10 mins walk from the mrt station. As i reached the place, i could see the front reception was decorated with their maid cafe merchandise - badges, cups, postcards etc. They had a wall of photos of all their maid staff with their names.

I entered and a girl dressed like a butler greeted me in japanese with "Okairinasai mase goshu-jin sama, please come in". The cafe itself was rather small, it had abt 6-7 tables and a fountain like thingy at the corner. There was a japanese guy playing a card game with 2 maids. She led me to a table where my friend and I set down and we were given 2 menus. I ordered one ice cream float and a cream soda for my friend. The menu is cutely designed and our drinks came with cute coasters. The drinks were ok. Didn't tried their lunch meals but they seem to have quite a variety of special stuff. There was a widescreen LCD tv on the wall at the side showing a morning musume concert. On the other corner was a shelve of mangas and toys?! I saw the crocodile toy, poke the barrel micky mouse toy and some other party games. Mangas included the popular deathnote,nodame,bleach and others i couldn't remember... The overall feel and look of the maid cafe is like what i've seen on dramas. Very nice.

The guy playing the cards with the maid proceeded to have his photo taken with the maids... i heard u need to pay 200 baht (almost 10 SGD for a photo taken with them) or either that u rack up points on their card. This japanese guy must be a regular i guess... Anyway, after that, the butler Yuki and a cute maid Yoko went up to our table and asked us how was our drinks, was it too sweet etc. (all in japanese) impressive... I conversed with my mediocre command of japanese and told them i wasn't from Japan. hehe. We then chatted lots about cosplay and anime culture with them. They also explained to me the cafe system. And I was pretty impressed by their command of japanese. Yuki was a mutual nodame drama fan...and she played the drama ep 1 on lcd tv for me... with thai subs =.=

Another japanese guy came in, and after a while, she asked a maid to play the barrel game with him. He lost but he got a badge reward or something. The two maids did a moe moe chant with hand movements in unison which goes something like this "Moe~ Moe~ ageru " or something haha and presented the badge to the guy. And one of them signed her name on the badge for him. Very cute and moe~

When we decided to leave, i asked for the bill. Yoko presented me with the bill... but i got a shock! There was a piece of pink paper in place of a original receipt which i had expected. The paper wrote "200 baht, ありがとう~" The zeroes had smilie faces in them. Very cute... I gave her 2 hundred baht bill and she thanked me. We proceeded to walk out to the entrance. Yoko then presented me with the official receipt, a pinafore point card and 2 sweets :D She explained the point card can be used both in Thailand and the Japan branch in akihabara. The two maids then bowed and said together "Itterasshai goshujin-sama, do come here again (sorry this part i forgot wat they said in japanese but this was what it meant). Anyway, that concludes my first maid cafe experience.... moe~

This drama was last winter season one. I downloaded first ep before months back. I tot it was pretty boring then...It was KimiTaku's first serious role in this tragic/family feud soap jdrama. Recently I decided to download all 11 episodes of it... and watched in a week back...cause there was an actress whom i like ^^...she had a small role in it tho. However after watching ep by ep...all i can say is...WOW...this drama has no slapstick lame humor, it however does have family feuds, a bitchy mistress, father-son rivalry, backstabbing, boring banking terms and politics. The drama has full of great actors, has a gripping,touching yet tragic storyline (based on a novel)

Here's the summary of it.

Manpyo Teppei is a son of a wealthy bank CEO, Manpyo Daisuke. Unlike his father, Teppei likes metal work. Being a executive managing director of his own Metal work factory (pass down by his grandfather), he has an ambition to build his own incinerator in his metal work factory, so that he can sell his designed metal work to the world.

His father Daisuke however, has his own troubles trying to save his own bank from being taken over by other bigger banks. Thus, he schemes on using Teppei's factory as a pawn in his plan. Teppei wonders why his father is always against him. The last few episodes explains it...Teppei's mother was raped by his grandfather 36 years ago. Daisuke hates Teppei because of this and at the same time, he wants to protect his business...leading him to hatch several plots to destroy Teppei's firm and dream...

Finally he did so. And many unfortunate things happen to Teppei's firm. With his firm being taken over by the Government metal work, Teppei felt he has lost everything... his dream, his company, his relationship with his father and the Manpyo family. He then commited suicide in the mountain top...leaving his wife and son.

When the family circles around his body, Daisuke still remains emotionless at the wake. Until the coroner gave him Teppei's death certificate...He was shocked to find out the blood group of Teppei is B... not A (The grandfather blood grp is A).. which is the same as him. He then realised Teppei was his real son afterall. Teppei's wife Sanae, then pass Daisuke the letter Teppei wrote to her. In the letter, all he ever asked was his father to approve of him and support him. Daisuke wept bitterly over his body. He has protected some dear to him, yet he has lost something in return.

This is a tragic twist to the drama. Of cos this is just the general summary in the show. There's many other sub plots regarding the family....like Daisuke's scheming mistress whom everyone in the family hates. Who arranges marriages for the siblings for means to gain power.

This drama is very powderful. I would recommend all to give this a watch. Like a hk soap drama. haha

Had yukata photoshoot @ chinese garden. Quite alrite, vogue_ace was a chatty lass who made sure we photogs weren't bored with the lack of models. Kudos for that. After the shoot, went to meet the gang for Angus's bdae celebration. Went ding tai fung at bishan for dinner, then went to coffee been for the bdae gifts giving ceremony. Meet my colleague and his gf at coffee bean? lol, they were still there when we left for dhoby ghaut...wat a place for a date lolx. Anyway, js and I intro the rest to DOTA and CS... But CS was the one who got them addictted.. I having played CS for 4-5 years... but it got them hooked for 3 hrs lol. Even Jasmine became our sniper queen lol. Reached home about 3am... 3 hrs sia....played until headache...almost wanted to puke... last time i played CS for 1 hrs buay tahan liaoz, surprisingly i can last 3hrs this time.haha

On a brighter note, i brought my Catherine The summoner from lvl 76 (Friday) - lvl 93 (As of now) after 12hrs+ of hardcore grinding... Will try to hit lvl 100 by this week so i can power level my other chars...
